How it all started
Gailerhof was built in 1411 as a home and farmstead for a farming family who worked the fields all around. In 1863 the Gailerhof mill, also known as the Goala mill, was built to grind the grain into flour. The old farmstead is still standing today, with our meadows and our forest all around it.
From farmstead to hotel
Guests were also accommodated in the historic farm building, until Peter and Gertrud Ploner, Georg’s parents, built a second building in 1981 and opened Gailerhof as a hotel.
Gailerhof today
Kati and Georg took over Gailerhof in 2018. Their wish: to combine peace and quiet, experiences and contemporary design. Without unnecessary frills, but with plenty of space to meet, relax and enjoy. The building was redesigned and is now, as a B&B, a stylish retreat, run with great attention to detail and warm-hearted hospitality. You’ll find our rooms and Suite-Apartments here.
Architecture with three awards
hoi°architektur from South Tyrol designed the unmistakable larch facade, built with wood from our own forest. A bold face for Gailerhof that blends into the landscape. The large balconies are part of the facade and extend the living space outdoors. Honoured with the German Design Award 2020, the MUSE Design Award 2022 in Gold and the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2023.
