Dreamy experiences under the sun
Hiking, cycling and chilling out in the Dolomites
Bright blue skies. Birdsong in the air, and the pale Dolomite rocks glowing in the sunshine. All the freedom you need to set off and explore the beautiful nature all around you. Your summer holiday in the Dolomites starts right outside our door in Welsberg (Monguelfo): hiking in the mountains, cycling through Val Pusteria (Puster Valley) or relaxing on our sunbathing lawn, it’s up to you.
Hiking and mountaineering
Hiking in the Dolomites is an experience as varied as the landscape itself. You can conquer the highest peaks and tackle famous climbing routes, or just take a leisurely walk through beautiful Alpine pastures such as Prato Piazza (Plätzwiese) in the Braies valley. There are so many highlights to see! Three hikes we love ourselves are below.
Cycling and mountain biking
Saddle up, your bike adventure starts right at Gailerhof Boutique Hotel B&B Dolomites! Head to the Kronplatz Bike Park for action-packed mountain bike trails, or hit the Val Pusteria cycle path for a cross-border ride as far as Bruneck or even Lienz in Austria. Also lovely: cycling into Val Casies (Gsieser Tal) or to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo viewpoint in Val di Landro (Höhlensteintal). Rent e-MTBs right here from us, €40 per bike and day, helmet and lock included. Your own bike is safe in our bike storage.
Family-sized happiness
Mission: keeping the kids entertained. Easy peasy, at Gailerhof! There are several adventure and family parks in the area that guarantee a fun-packed experience for the whole family: Little Kronplatz on the Kronplatz, Olperls Mountain World on Mount Helm (Monte Elmo) and the Kingdom of the Giant Haunold will leave you amazed.
Time for relaxation
How wonderful it is to sleep in, enjoy your breakfast in peace and quiet, and just indulge in sweet idleness! Put your feet up in a deckchair on our sunbathing lawn, with a coffee on the sun terrace. Or head to one of the nearby mountain lakes: Lake Toblach (Lago di Dobbiaco) 10 minutes, Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee) 15 minutes, Lake Antholz (Lago di Anterselva) 35 minutes.
Getting around by bus and train
With the Südtirol Guest Pass, our guest card, you reach the most beautiful places for your days out free of charge by regional bus and train.
