Fresh snow covering the peaks like a fluffy blanket, softening the landscape and swathing it in deep silence. A fairytale setting for your ski holiday in the Dolomites, an experience with so much more to offer than just a beautiful landscape. Dive in and discover what this winter wonderland right outside our door has in store for you!
Ski holiday in the Dolomites with two ski areas
At Gailerhof Boutique Hotel B&B Dolomites, skiers are twice as happy: we’re located right between two of South Tyrol’s best ski areas, Kronplatz (Plan de Corones) and 3 Zinnen Dolomites. You reach Kronplatz in 15 minutes, the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski area in 20. Both boast perfectly groomed pistes for all levels and a Dolomites panorama that amazes you every single day.
Ski Pustertal Express, ski storage and ski rental
You reach both valley stations by car or with the Ski Pustertal Express. The ski train stops at Percha right by Kronplatz and at Vierschach-Helm (Versciaco-Monte Elmo) by the 3 Zinnen Dolomites ski area. You board at Welsberg-Gsies railway station (Monguelfo-Casies), 3 km from the house. With the Südtirol Guest Pass, included for you, you travel free. There’s no ski bus stop near the house, but there is free parking right at the house. All the details on getting here are under Location & directions. Your skis spend the night in our ski storage, your boots dry in the boot dryer. If you don’t have your own gear, Hellweger Sport has it: in the centre of Welsberg and right at the railway station, with cross-country skis, snowshoes and toboggans as well as alpine skis.
Cross-country skiing on 900 kilometres of trails
A ski holiday in the Dolomites with us also means cross-country skiing: around 900 kilometres of daily groomed, snow-sure trails make up Dolomiti Nordicski, one of the largest cross-country networks in Europe. One pass and you glide all the way to Cortina. The entry to the Val Casies (Gsieser Tal) trail is just 1 km from the house: this sunny route into the idyllic Val Casies will win you over. The Val Casies-Welsberg-Taisten cross-country area alone has 50 km of trails.
Other ways to enjoy the snow
Snowshoe your way through the snowy expanses, explore the tranquil landscape on a ski tour in Val Casies (Gsieser Tal), challenge your kids to a toboggan race or show off your best figures on the ice rink. Enjoy winter the way you prefer. We’re happy to share our favourite routes and a few insider tips at reception.
